`Heroine` Kareena splurges Rs 1.2 cr on costumes!

Mumbai: Madhur Bhadrakar seems to be following in the footsteps of his contemporary Sanjay Leela Bhansali. SLB had spent over lacs over his film `Devdas`s` costumes and now Bhandarkar has followed suit! If the latest spin off from the rumour mill is anything to go by, it’s been revealed that the lead actress of the film, Kareena Kapoor will don costumes worth Rs 1.2 crore in Bhandarkar’s magnum opus. Reportedly, every scene in the film will have four costume changes. A reliable source said that the film will have 130 costumes designed especially for Kareena by ace designer Manish Malhotra. Kareena Kapoor plays a diva at the prime of her career in ‘Heroine’ After the film got shelved due to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan`s pregnancy, Kareena Kapoor stepped in to save the project. However, Bhandarkar maintains that Bebo was the original choice for the role. “Heroine is an extravagant project and they are leaving no stone unturned to make it look as glamorous as possible," the source said.
