New Delhi: With high praise from all quarters for `Queen`, Kangana Ranaut has a lot to prove with `Revolver Rani`.
Kangana dons the cap of a rustic belle with a penchant for guns as Alka in `Revolver...`, who falls in love with an aspiring actor. Set in a pulp kitsch setting, the Sai Kabir directed film has a dark comedy look.
The hype around the movie comes from the 80`s conical bra look that Kangana dares to wear. The film which is a satire and unusual love story set against the backdrop of politics, with the leading lady battling love and her quirky self. The music has created a stir with Usha Uthup lending her voice for the title track.
It also boasts of renowned actor director Piyush Mishra of `Gangs of Wasseypur` fame, Zakir Hussain and Pankaj Saraswat also play major roles in the movie which is set in Gwalior.
Speaking to reporters Kangana had said, “It is not a woman-oriented film, it is a high-concept film. `Revolver Rani` is a genre-breaker, you will not find any reference for this film, there has never been such a film in Bollywood which has been narrated in a cheap literature style.”
The expectations run high with `Revolver Rani` as Kangana has set the bar high for herself with great performances and off beat cinema that she has come to be known for.
Let`s wait and see whether the movie delivers on its promise.
