Mumbai: Debutant director Shuja Ali, who is looking forward to his upcoming film `Kuch Log`, says that the Mumbai terror attacks inspired him to make it.
`Kuch Log` follows the story of a terrorist - played by Aarya Babbar, son of actor-turned politician Raj Babbar - who runs into someone who teaches him the true message of the Holy Quran. "The film is not based on November 26 terror attacks. It was an unfortunate event. The 26/11 attacks have shaken all of us. I was too shaken by it and in some or the other way I wanted to contribute, so as a filmmaker, I thought of doing a film," Ali told PTI. "The fact is Muslims like me are in more pain as (we) have a guilty feeling as some fellow Muslim people are misguided... we (also) fear for those innocent Muslims who have not done anything or played any role (in terrorist activities) but who are held behind the bars," he said. The movie stars Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover, Ganesh Venkatraman, Aarya, Rati Agnihotri, Urvashi Sharma, Neelima Azeem, Tom Alter, Aarthi Thakur and Razzak Khan. "The film, which is a fiction, is set in Lucknow. It is a commercial mainstream film showing the positive side of the Muslim community." PTI
