Delhi: After striking gold with ‘Vicky Donor’, newly-turned producer John Abraham is now gearing up for his next – ‘Madras Café’. The political thriller, directed by Shoojit Sircar, is currently in production, and hits theatres August 30 this year. Apart from John Abraham, the film stars Nargis Fakhri and debutante Rashi Khanna in pivotal roles. ‘Madras Café’ is being produced jointly by JA Entertainment, Viacom 18 and Rising Sun Films. Abraham tweeted about the release of the film recently, “My film "Madras Cafe" releases on the 30th of August. This is my next after “Vicky Donor”. A film that is very close to my heart.(sic)” The film’s co-producer, Ronnie Lahiri, too, tweeted the same: “JA Entertainment, Rising Sun Films, Viacom18`s Madras Cafe to release on 30 Aug. @ShoojitSircar @The_JohnAbraham .(sic)” Parts of the film have been shot in Delhi, Noida and Sri Lanka apart from places in Southern India. While John Abraham’s role is that of an Indian intelligence agent, Nargis Fakhri plays an international reporter.
