Amole Gupte to immortalise RD Burman in ‘Bheja Fry 2’
Mumbai: Bollywood’s most loved music director Rahul Dev Burman is all set to be immortalised in ‘Bheja Fry 2’ by Amole Gupte.
Apparently, Amole Gupte will play a character duplicate to RD Burman in Sagar Ballary’s ‘Bheja Fry 2’, something quite similar on the lines of the original ‘Bheja Fry’ (2007), where Vinay Pathak played Bharat Bhushan – a die-hard fan of Madan Mohan’s compositions.
The sequel will showcase the song-fixated character, Bharat Bhushan (Pathak) winning a music contest and going on a cruise, where he meets KK Menon.
Talking about Burman’s character and copyright issues ‘Bheja Fry 2’, the director said that Amole Gupte will be playing Burman’s duplicate character, aptly named Raghu Burman, who is passionate about RD Burman’s music.
Interestingly, incidents from Burman’s real life have been included into Amole Gupte’s character.
Speaking about the film, especially on Burman’s songs and music, Ballary said, “Today’s generation is still very much aware of Burman’s music and so we’ve used his songs and music extensively. I can’t say much about Amole’s character right now but if Burman were to come alive he would definitely be pleased.”
It is believed that Asha Bhosle will be invited to watch ‘Bheja Fry 2’ sometime in March.
