Another Munni readies for Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Knockout’

Mumbai: Craze of the latest chart-buster from ‘Dabangg’ - Munni Badnaam Hui is growing day by day. Taking the world by storm, the item number has prompted an unprecedented trend among filmmakers to include a similar track in their upcoming films to catch viewer’s eye. Enthralled with the popularity of Munni Badnaam Hui, Sanjay Dutt is so impressed with Mallika’s hip-shaking number that that he wants a similar rocking item number for his forthcoming film ‘Knockout’. It is believed that the actor has personally spoken to lyricist Sameer to pen a catchy track, which would surpass MBH in popularity. Talking to a news daily, Sameer said, “Yes I had met Sanju at a party and he called me and told me that he wants a rocking number which would be a fitting reply to Munni Badnaam Hui. Thankfully, I had some lyrics written for a song which were Gangubai Pe Ayior Jawani Jab Se, Sare Launde Hairaan Pareshan Tab Se. The lyricist further added, “He loved the lyrics and told me to go ahead and compose it immediately. At that very moment, I called composer Sanjeev Darshan and told him that we have to do this song and deliver in a day. We went to Nysa Studios, booked it for two days and started working.” It is being known that the Sameer came up two versions; one was an Indian version called Desi Gangu and another was a Western version. Both were played out for Sanju and he instantly loved both of them. So, now both the songs are being recorded with even producer Sohail Maklai giving his consent to shoot both the versions for ‘Knockout’. A birdie confirms that Mahi Gill has been roped in to perform in this item number. Mahi incidentally played a small role in ‘Dabangg’ and now is ready to scorch the screen with her hot moves!
