Anushka Sharma to star in `Bombay Velvet`?

Mumbai: Actress Anushka Sharma is reportedly set to work with Anurag Kashyap`s next project ‘Bombay Velvet’ that also features Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.

Anushka, 24, who recently bagged Raju Hirani`s ‘Peekay’, has neither confirmed nor denied when asked about Kashyap`s upcoming project. "I can`t talk about things till it is confirmed. The announcement will come at the right time," Anushka told reporters here at an event. It was reported that Ranbir recommended Anushka`s name for ‘Bombay Velvet’, a drama based on `Mumbai Fables`, a semi-fictional study of Bombay in 1960s by eminent historian and Princeton University`s history professor Gyan Prakash. "I am looking forward to work with Anurag Kashyap," she said. The ‘Band Baaja Barat’ star will be seen romancing Aamir Khan in Hirani`s ‘Peekay’. She will also be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj`s ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ with Imran Khan. "We have finished shooting. I am happy to work with Vishal and Imran. The best part about Vishal`s film is the characters are so well written. It is an entertaining film," she said. ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ is likely to release in January next year. PTI
