Mumbai: Bong bombshell Bipasha Basu will be seen in a new avatar in her upcoming film ‘Aakrosh’, for she believes in the fine art of balancing her qualitative work with masala flicks she has done in the past.
In ‘Aakrosh’, Bipasha plays the main protagonist, who helps in the investigation of the honour killings that rock a village in North India. Talking to a news daily, Bipasha said, "It`s a very nicely told story...within a thriller format. Honour killings are a burning topic. And we must not run from it.``
Bipasha further adds that she is more than happy to be associated with this thinking film because she truly believes that mainstream actors should devote time to films that talk about political crisis and expose the social evils through films.
The actress was quite serous when she added, "We can`t be buffoons all the time just to make money. There are very few film-makers making these films that throw light on social evils and they need to be encouraged. Mainstream actors should definitely go out of their way to do such films.``
Produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, ‘Aakrosh’ is slated for an October 15 release.
The film is an investigative thriller, quite like a jigsaw puzzle that keeps unfolding in a fast-paced manner.
