Mumbai: `Dabangg` baddie Sonu Sood, who is basking in new-found glory after the stupendous response to his well-sculpted body and performance as `Chhedi Singh` in the movie, feels that Bollywood is not very high on the male skin show.
"I think we are still toying with the idea (of male skin show). Frankly our actors are not equipped for it. The audience is also not fully ready for it...we are locked in a particular mindset. It is not easy to pull off your shirt, bare your torso and go beyond it. It needs a lot of conviction. You have to be comfortable in your skin. A great physique and a good performance make for a delicious combination," Sonu told reporters.
On whether he will be comfortable baring it all like his counterparts Neil (in Jail) and John (in Newyork) he said, "It may sound cliched...but I will not be hesitant to do a bold nude scene if the script demands so. Only, I should be convinced about the act."
The 37-year-old actor, a self-confessed fitness freak says the rave reviews for his look in the Salman starrer is the result of a strict regimen and vegetarian diet.
"I have been working out for the last 16 years to achieve this status. Physique is definitely a recipe for success. Gymming for me is as important as breathing or brushing my teeth...You need to respect your body and treat it like a temple specially when you are facing fit stars like Salman," said the actor who is enjoying the adulation post `Dabangg`.
He is also quick to brush aside the six-pack ab fad. "A six pack is not a big deal...You need to work on your entire body and concentrate on other parts too, to get a fab physique," said Sonu, who has been training with `True Fitness`, the largest wellness and fitness centre in Mumbai.
On his upcoming projects, Sonu said he is looking forward to `Buddha` directed by `Pokiri` (on which the superhit `Wanted` was based) director Puri Jagannath.
"I am playing a cop in the movie and share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan...I am working towards a leaner look in the film but it would definitely be a muscular one," he said.
Besides, I have two Tamil projects and a couple of Bollywood offers in hand, Sonu said.
The actor is also set to play Chhedi`s twin in the `Dabbang` sequel, which he says will essay him in an entirely different mould with a grey shade.
"We are still working on his character," he said.
Asked if he will repeat a Chhedi, Sonu said he is open to negative roles but with a slice of "variety and entertainment" would definitely be add-ons.
