New Delhi: Tusshar Kapoor is all set for his first solo film after the success of ‘The Dirty Picture’ with ‘Chaar Din Ki Chandni’, which the actor believes will make a big splash at the Box Office.
The film, also starring Kulraj Randhawa, is directed by ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ fame Samir Karnik.
"`Chaar Din Ki Chandni` is a family drama with lots of comedy and funny characters. It is an out and out entertainer about two families, one from Punjab and another from Rajasthan, but it is not slapstick," Tusshar told PTI.
"I play a Rajasthani who is in love with a Punjabi girl. Since my father is a staunch Rajput and comes with his own principles, I keep telling lies to hide Kulraj`s identity, which lands me into trouble," the actor added.
Tusshar has pinned his hopes on his director and hopes that Karnik will be able to deliver yet another hit with his brand of comedy.
"He has managed well and comes after the success of `Yamla Pagla Deewana`. A lot of credit goes to his direction." Tusshar said Kulraj, his leading lady in the film, is a quick learner.
"She has been quite good for a newcomer. Her comic timing is good and she is a quick learner. Since the film has Samir`s brand of humour, he had to work hard on both of us to adapt to his sensibilities."
The actor said he has overcome the disappointment of ‘Hum
Tum Shabana’ bombing at the box office and is looking forward
to the release of his latest rom-com.
"I guess the negativity of 'Hum Tum Shabana' has gone off now. When it didn't work, I was disappointed though not shocked as the release date had anyways been pushed around a lot.
"This film is coming after 'The Dirty Picture', it works for me. A good film comes with a lot of positive energy. Since this is my solo film, I am expectedly quite excited and hopeful about it.
In this film, which has mistaken identities at the core of the plot, it is Anupam Kher who plays the part of a Rajput while Om Puri plays the tough Punjabi.
Other cast members include Chandrachur Singh, Mukul Dev, Sushant Singh, Johny Lever and Anita Raaj. The film releases all over on March 9.
