Mumbai: Chetan Bhagat, who made a long journey from being a banker to a writer, is all set to assist filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj in the film adaptation of his famous novel ‘2 States’. Apparently, apart from assisting Bhardwaj on ‘2 States’, he will also be working on the screenplay of the film. While talking to the news daily, Bhagat confirmed the news and said, “I am in touch with Vishal Bhardwaj. And I will definitely be collaborating on the script of ‘2 States’. Vishal is a very gifted filmmaker. And if he will allow me, I would definitely like to learn direction from him.” Praising Bhardwaj for his acute understanding of literary works when it comes to cinematic representation, Bhagat said, “Bhardwaj has made movies out of other literary works and has adapted them very successfully to the screen. Just how far he would like me to be involved with the screenplay of ‘2 States’ will depend on him.” Apart from the film adaptation of ‘2 States’, Chetan is busy with the film adaptation of ‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’. The film adaptation of ‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’ is being made by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. When enquired about the same, Chetan said, “It’s being produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. They’re busy with Farhan’s Don 2 and other projects. I am sure it will be made in good time.” Let’s hope this time Chetan does not burn his hands as he did with Aamir starrer ‘3 Idiots’.
