New Delhi: From dressing in sequins to playing cricket with Akshay Kumar and taking dance lessons from Aishwarya Rai, MTV host Rannvijay says that shooting for `Action Replay` was a "crazy but fun" ride.
He is one of the best known faces on Indian television but Rannvijay is sure that even his die-hard fans will not recognise him in the film set in the disco era of the 70`s.
"`Action Replay` is set in the 1970`s and I am totally unrecognisable in the film. It`s crazy and great fun because I am wearing clothes that I would have worn to a fancy dress competition and nowhere else," the `Roadies` host told reporters.
The film`s plot and look have been closely guarded from leaks and the first released stills of the film showed Akshay Kumar in a avatar inspired by Elvis Presley, wearing a sequinned leather jacket while Aishwarya wore a sparkly jumpsuit.
The comedy was shot on a tight 45-day schedule away from Mumbai, but the 27-year-old actor says that work is fun when you have someone like Akshay on the sets.
"We shot in Karjat and we stayed there returning to Mumbai just for the weekends. Akshay Kumar is great fun as in he is not posh or a show off and his idea of fun is very
similar to my own and we are both from Delhi," said Rannvijay.
He had shot to instant fame after winning the first edition of the hit reality TV show `Roadies` at the age of 22 and went on to become a youth icon as MTV`s star host.
And he is now sharing the screen with Bollywood biggies he grew up watching, but working with Salman Khan in `London Dreams` takes the cake as the best ever experience, said Rannvijay.
"Salman Bhai is the best co-star ever. I remember when we were shooting in London he would make sure that when we came back from our night-outs we would have food waiting. He is just an amazing guy," he said.
But it was former Miss World Aishwarya who left him stumped by her dance moves.
"She is a quick learner and a fab dancer. I would make it to the sets an hour before time so that I could practice and still would not get it right. But she would have the steps down perfectly, just two minutes after arriving. She really helped me with the dances," said Rannvijay who is eagerly awaiting the release of the film which is in it`s post-production stages now.
The film had grabbed headlines when Warner Bros studio issued a public warning to Vipul Shah, the producer of `Action Replay` after reports that the Hindi film was a copy of their Oscar winning `The Curious case of Benjamin Button`.
Other than `Action Replay`, he will also be playing the protagonist in `Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene` with Zayed Khan and a college student working as a bouncer in `Ekanth`.
