Danny Boyle ‘stunned’ by Slumdog Millionaire’s 10 Oscar nods

Slumdog Millionaire’s director Danny Boyle jumped out of his seat after learning that his film secured 10 Academy Award nominations.

Washington, Jan 23: Slumdog Millionaire’s director Danny Boyle jumped out of his seat after learning that his film secured 10 Academy Award nominations.The acclaimed flick featuring Dev Patel in the lead is based on tale of a former street child who wins the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
The flick has nominated for best motion picture category, and Boyle has been nominated in the best director category. "The response has been extraordinary - of people saying they want to see it, or have seen it... You`ve got to just live with the moment really - it`s just extraordinary,” Contactmusic quoted Boyle, as telling American TV show Today. "So we can go to our premiere now here, and say that Hollywood has bestowed this kind of honour. It`s absolutely extraordinary, so thank you to the Academy. What a wonderful honour,” Boyle added. The flick has also been nominated for Cinematography, Achievement in Film Editing, Achievement in Music (Original Score), Achievement in Music (Original Song) (Two Nominations), Achievement in Sound Editing, Achievement in Sound Mixing and Adapted Screenplay.
