New Delhi: Raring to hit the silver screen on September 14, ‘Barfi!’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz promises to be a hatke entertaining film.
The trailers have impressed the audiences and so has the music of the film. Set in the backdrop of the 1970s era, ‘Barfi!’ will see Ranbir play a character who is deaf and mute. Priyanka too will be seen in an altogether different avatar as she plays an autistic girl. And south sensation Ileana makes her Bollywood debut with this film.
The three stars, producer Siddharth Roy Kapoor and filmmaker Anurag Basu spoke about their upcoming flick ‘Barfi’ in an exclusive interview to Zeenews.
Talking about the Murphy Baby Radio controversy, Priyanka Chopra said that there was no reason for the company to take offense to its projection. And that the use of the iconic image only elevates the standards of the brand.
On being asked about the film that looks like an experiment of sorts by the filmmaker, Ranbir said that the film is a complete entertainer. The protagonist Barfi cannot speak yet does all the mischief a normal boy does. Though the film intends to make people take a look at life from a different perspective, it will in no way make them sympathise with the character.
Priyanka also spoke about her character and said that she didn’t take any reference while playing Jhilmil. In fact, her scenes had no screenplay in place and she had to improvise on the sets of the film. Hence her performance was more spontaneous.
South Indian actress Ileana plays a typically Indianised Bengali girl of the 1970s. Talking about her experience in Bollywood, she said that there is startling difference in the culture projected in the films produced in north and south. And she thouroghly enjoyed working with the team of ‘Barfi!’.
Producer Aditya Roy Kapoor made ‘Barfi!’ with an intention to entertain the audiences and so did director Anurag Basu.
The trailers look interesting; Ranbir’s performance in the film looks irresistible. And the fans are eagerly waiting for the film to release this Friday!
