Farah Khan to make a debut as an actor in Bhansali’s next
Mumbai: From being an outstanding choreographer to directing mainstream Bollywood films, Farah Khan has come a long way. Her talent definitely knows no limits especially after this latest piece of news which reveals that the lady is all set to don a new hat – that of an actor!
Believe it or not, but Farah has been approached by Sanjay Leela Bhansali to play the leading lady in his next production to be directed by his sister Bela. Bhansali, who is popular for giving dark, serious films, has this time turned towards giving a comedy.
According to him, it’s a funny and very tender, quaint love story of a Parsi couple. In this Farah will be sharing the screen space with the talented actor Boman Irani, who will be playing her husband’s character.
On asking why he chose Farah for this movie, Bhansali said that the film’s character Shirin seems to suit her perfectly. He added, “Farah has amazing wit and wicked humour and I could see that translating on the screen.”
While Bela, who has edited most of SLB’s films revealed, "I instinctively felt Farah was right for the role. Also, she is half-Parsi and has a mad side to her. And there could be no one better than Boman for this role. Expect to see a lot of song and dance in my film."
Bollywood is surprised with this latest alliance. In fact, the lady herself is quite surprised about bagging Sanjay’s project.
Now it’s a known fact that Farah and Sanjay were at loggerheads earlier but it seems Farah is more than willing to dance to the tunes of her foe-turned-friend!
