Mumbai: A film on Austrian-born German politician Adolf Hitler called `Dear Friend Hitler`, which created controversy when actor Anupam Kher opted out of it, is ready to release July 29 with Raghuvir Yadav as the protagonist.
The film, which is in English, also has a Hindi version called `Gandhi To Hitler`. Both will release on the same date. `Dear Friend Hitler` that has been helmed by Rakesh Ranjan Kumar and produced by Anil Kumar Sharma, also stars Neha Dhupia, Avijit Dutt, Naseer Abdullah, Aman Verma, Nalin Singh and Nikita Anand in pivotal roles. Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, director of films like `Jab We Met` and `Love Aaj Kal`, is the creative consultant. The film looks at Hitler`s downfall, his last days when only his love Eva Braun and his trusted aide Joseph Goebbels stood by him, as Germany around him crumbled and his trusted comrades deserted him. It also aims to establish the superiority of Gandhism over Nazism -- thereby giving the message of world peace. IANS
