First look of `D-Day` movie unveiled in Mumbai
New Delhi: The first look of Nikhil Advani`s movie `D-Day` was revealed in the entertainment capital Mumbai.
Lead actors, Irfan Khan, Arjun Rampal, Rishi Kapoor and Huma Qureshi graced the occasion with their presence.
Talking on the occasion, filmmaker Advani clarified the reason for choosing this controversial subject for the film.
"I am particularly obsessed with the fact that I was 21 years old when the bomb blast happened in Mumbai and it affected my life quiet a lot. So I wanted to make a film which could put a full stop to that particular event and that`s why this film was made," he said.
Actress Qureshi, who will be seen doing action for the first time said that she enjoyed doing it.
"I really enjoyed doing action because this is the first time I have done action. When Nikhil called me and narrated the subject to me he did give me the option to play another character in the film but I chose this because I knew I won`t get this opportunity again and train with tom and to work with every one else," she said.
"It`s really difficult; I don`t really enjoy hand to hand combat. But it`s a lot of fun and I hope everyone is going to enjoy it to," she added.
Interacting with media persons, National Award winner, Khan said that initially he had a doubt whether the script would get translated on the screen as it is or not, but he seemed to be satisfied with the final outcome.
" When Nikhil narrated my script it was like a roller costar ride and my concern was will we be able to it similarly and would we be able to translate it on screen because it was a very well researched script. The kind of detailing the script had was unbelievable for me," he said.
"My real concern was whether we will be able to put the team together. I started asking questions to Nikhil and he said he will call someone from batman returns so I was like its all bullshit. Every one says they are calling someone or the other but nobody does. But Nikhil was serious and everything started falling into place and now we have this film," the actor added.
The film which depicts the journeys of four unsung heroes from different walks of life will hit the screens on 19th July.
