New Delhi: The latest YRF production, starring their new bahu, Rani Mukerji has recently released the first look of Pradeep Sarkar's 'Mardaani'.

Rani plays a tough cop in 'Mardaani' and the poster makes her look unlike any of her previous avatars. Rani is clad in a black kurta and holds a gun in her hand. But what is most enticing about this rough and tough image of hers is her sans make-up intense stare, with a blurred image of a bleeding man lying in the background.

The film has Rani essaying the role of Shivani Shivaji Roy, a police officer at the Mumbai Crime Branch. The movie revolves around Shivani`s life as she takes on a dangerous case. This is the first time Rani will be playing a role of a cop.

Pradeep Sarkar`s `Mardaani` resumed shooting for its last schedule on the 28th of May. The movie is set to hit the silver screen on August 22.

Bengali superstar Jisshu Sengupta plays the male lead in the film. Jisshu was seen before in the critically acclaimed `Barfi`.
