Freida to star opposite James Franco for `Rise of the Apes`

Los Angeles: ‘Slumdog’ beauty Freida Pinto has not seen back after the multiple Oscar winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ happened to her. The actress, who is hailed as a stunning Indian beauty in the West, is being approached for prestigious and most coveted international projects. According to latest news, Freida Pinto has been approached to star opposite James Franco of ‘Freaks and Geeks’ fame in the prequel of ‘Planet of the Apes’. Reportedly, Pinto will play the character of Caroline, a primatologist while Franco will be seen as a scientist who becomes a crucial figure in the war between humans and apes. According to sources, ‘Planet of the Apes’ is set in present day San Francisco. The film deals with the aftermath of man`s experiments with genetic engineering that lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. If all turns out well, the film, which is to be directed by Rupert Wyatt will go on floors next month and release by June 24, 2011. Long way to go Freida! (With IANS input)
