Mumbai: After being touted as lovers, Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori are set to fight out each other at the Box Office. Believe it or not, but the two will be competing for eyeballs on November 19 as both Hrithik’s ‘Guzaarish’ and Mori’s film ‘The Spanish Beauty’ will hit screens the same day.
But there is more to this rivalry than meets the eye. And it’s none other than Rakesh Roshan’s arch-rival, Jayantilal Gada of PEN Entertainment, who has ensured this rift.
As per reports, Gada and Sr Roshan share a long history of animosity that dates back to the release of Hrithik’s first film ‘Kaho Naa Pyar Hai’. However, this time round Gada decided to once again scratch old wounds and release his film ‘The Spanish Beauty’, that was originally titled ‘My Brother’s Wife’ starring Barbara Mori, on the same day as Hrithik’s ‘Guzaarish’.
Confirming the news a source told a daily, “Spanish Beauty can attract an audience as it has a lot of bold scenes by Barbara.”
Gada told a tabloid, “Rakesh Roshan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are my friends. It is just that I think November 19 is the best date for my film Spanish Beauty. I am even trying to contact Barbara to fly down to Mumbai (wouldn’t she love that?) before the release of my film, but I don’t know if I’ll succeed.”
And call it cheap shot or a publicity stunt, but Hrithik and Barbara are up against each other at the Box Office.
