Imran grabs ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’

Mumbai: Imran Khan might be just a few films old, but the actor has stepped into the shoes of his senior colleague Ajay Devgn. Junior Khan has grabbed the lead role in ace filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj’s film ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’. Ajay opted out of the film after he had a fall out with Vishal and that made way for young Imran. Talking to a tabloid, a source said, “Bharadwaj chose Imran. He sees great potential in him to carry off the role.” Imran will be paired opposite Anushka Sharma for the first time in the film. He is super excited to have won a role in the critically acclaimed director’s project. “Imran is very excited that he would be working with Bharadwaj. Imran is also happy that he would have a new leading lady, Anushka Sharma, who has not worked with him yet,” added the source. Reportedly, Vishal had even approached his ‘Kaminey’ star Shahid for the role. But it seems the role was meant for Imran. An elated Imran, While expressing his excitement said, “I love the script. We are working out the details. It`s an honour to be approached by a filmmaker like Vishal Bharadwaj.”
