Mumbai: Actor Imran Khan, of late has been experimenting a lot with different avatars. From wicked humour roles to on screen kissing, Imran is on the roll.
The actor takes another leap with his forthcoming film ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’, where he falls in love with his brothers’ bride.
The good-looking actor however admits that the transition wasn`t easy. Speaking to a daily, he said, “I’m an introvert and this movie is in a very desi setting. I had to come out of my shell for the film.”
He further said, “Initially, I had doubts about whether I was making the right choice, but I loved the way director Ali Abbas Zafar pitched the film.”
“It is heavily inspired by the director`s life. He is a Dehradun boy and won`t compromise on his morals," he says, adding, "MBKD is not like DB. While DB was underplayed, MBKD is loud. The style of humour is different”, added Imran.
There were reports that Imran lobbied for Pakistani actor Ali Zafar to be a part of the film? "I tried to get a good actor for a crucial role and Ali made the character very likeable," he explained.
"Actually, it was the director`s idea to bring Ali on-board. He is a charming guy and a lot of fun to work with," he added.
