Irrfan Khan set to play villain in Spiderman’s next

Mumbai: Sources confirm that in the reboot version of the next Spiderman movie franchise, Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan might play the role of a villain. Super talented Irrfan has been signed on as one of the baddies who go against the new Spiderman played by Andrew Garfield (of ‘The Social Network’ fame).

Apart from Irrfan, the film will also feature another villain Dr. Connors a.k.a `The Lizard` played by Rhys Ifans. The new supercaper 3D film is being directed by Mark Webber and is expected to hit screens in 2012.

Irrfan features as the new super villain Nel Vans Atter. Playing an evil `Proto-Goblin` who worked for Norman Osborne, the villain in the first ‘Spiderman’ film, Atter has morphed into an evil freak from a normal human being. He is said to have been used as a test subject by Osborne, the reaction of chemicals developed by him turned him into a red beast with fangs and claws.

After the success of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, fans of Irrfan will look forward to this new challenging role of a baddie against world’s best superhero – Spiderman!
