Mumbai: Actor Shahid Kapoor is soon to dabble into action in the coming time. Sources confirm that Ramesh Taurani of Tips have signed the actor in the lead role for an all out action flick to be directed by talented Siddhartha Anand.
Siddhartha, after the debacle of ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ too is keen to explore the action genre and Shahid being his close friend the project is expected to be one rocking block buster.
Taurani at the other hand launched Shahid Kapoor in the 2003 romantic flick ‘Ishq Vishk’, will now work with the actor again after their last project ‘Fida’ in 2004.
A source talking to media said, "After the failure of Anjaana Anjaani, Siddharth was supposed to direct Two States with Saif and Priyanka for Sajid Nadiadwala. However, since he is no longer part of the project, he proceeded to meet Shahid and narrated a story idea to him.”
The source further said that, “Shahid immediately took to the concept and now Tips has joined on-board to produce the speculated action film, which will be a new experience for the actor. Ramesh Taurani has wanted to work with Shahid for some time. He signed the actor a year ago and only now has the project finally fallen into place.”
When contacted, Taurani confirmed, "Yes, we are doing a film with Siddharth and Shahid, which will go on floors soon. It is too early though to give any details as nothing has been finalised."
