Mumbai: Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh might be working together in a film but it does not mean that the two of them have to be the best friends. Definitely not on the sets of Rohit Dhawan’s ‘Desi Boyz’.
Recently, John and Akshay played perfect peacemakers between Deepika and Chitrangada who were having a tough time together.
On Tuesday, John, Akshay, Deepika and Chitrangada were shooting for a promotional ‘making of the film’ at Mumbai’s Filmistan Studios. As per eyewitness, the two actresses couldn’t see eye to eye.
Talking to a daily, the eyewitness said, “On Tuesday, the entire cast of the film was shooting the ‘making of the film’ section at Filmistan Studios, Goregaon. Chitrangada and Deepika were seen avoiding each other like plague. Tired of this tension, Akshay and John, who have tried several times to get them talking, decided to give it a final shot”.
“The film promotions are still pending and they did not want the discomfort between the two actresses to show in front of the media. Akshay, known for his sense of humour, started cracking jokes. John too tried his best. They tried their best for about half an hour, after which even they gave up.”
A source revealed, “In London, on the first day of shoot, Chitrangada and Deepika exchanged pleasantries only as a formality. It was clearly visible that they weren`t comfortable with each other, but being the first day of shoot, they chatted once in a while.”
However, when contacted, Deepika feigned ignorance and said, “These things are cheap and old gimmicks to draw attention to a film. Since there is no hype and it is the coldest film of the season, they need to do such stories to get noticed.”
