"Very soon we will constitute a film development corporation as well as an outdoor film studio in Ranchi," he told reporters at the inauguration of the first film festival organised here to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema.

"The aim is to promote local and regional films and people involved in the filmmaking. We assure to extend all possible help and providing security to people who will shoot movies in the state."

Speaking on the occasion, "Pinjar" director Chandraprakash Dwivedi appealed to the chief minister to create an environment and provide security so that directors could plan and shoot movies in the state.

Jharkhand Information and Public Information Department (IPRD) has already started work to set up the studio and the corporation.

"As directed by the chief minister, we have identified a spot at Pithoria situated on the outskirts of Ranchi for the studio" said M.R. Meena, secretary of IPRD.

Munda also hopes that people of the state would get global exposure through film festivals.
