‘Jism 2’ gets Adult certification before UAE release
Dubai: ‘Jism 2,’ which is billed as the debut film for adult star Sunny Leone, will be released in the UAE on Thursday as planned, during Ramadan.
Local distributors of erotic thriller expressed joy and relief after it got cleared by the local censors with an A (Adult) certification on Tuesday.
“We are relieved that the National Media Council [the body which approves films in the UAE] has cleared the film and the audiences here get to watch it at the same time along with the viewers in India,’” Gulf News quoted Mahi Golchin Depala, Managing Partner of Phars Films, as saying.
Depala’s company along with Al Nisr Cinema Film is distributing the flick in the UAE.
Due to its racy content, industry insiders feared whether it would face ban and have the same fate as ‘Black Swan,’ ‘Love And Other Drugs’ or ‘Sex And The City,’ due to their “sexually explicit” content.
However, ‘Jism 2’ – the sequel to 2003 blockbuster ‘Jism’ – has managed to secure an Adults Only viewing.
“We are happy with their decision. It’s been a good innings this Ramadan on the Bollywood releases front,” Depala said.
If its bold prequel that launched Bipasha Basu as Bollywood’s bombshell is anything to go by, ‘Jism 2’ will be sensually-charged.
In the new instalment, Leone plays a porn star Izna – a honey trap hired by a cop (Arunoday Singh) to track down an elusive assassin (Randeep Hooda).
