Kangna Ranaut follows Rani; declines ‘Midnight`s Children’
Mumbai: Filmmaker Deepa Mehta seems to be caught in casting crisis! The ace director is in a fix after Kangna Ranaut, who was to play the lead role in her upcoming flick ‘Midnight`s Children’, walked out of the film. The film, which is based on Salman Rushdie’s book of the same name, has no lead as well as supporting actors now.
Kangna’s departure from the film comes days after Rani Mukerji had declined to play the role of a 14 year old child in the film. As for Kangna’s decision to walk out of the film, sources state that it is due to date problem.
The actress has a score of films in her kitty as of now and is not in a position to take on more work. Confirming the news a source said, “Kangna is very busy with another movie ‘Dhamaal 2’, which will start shooting very soon so she could not manage her dates. Kangna will also be seen in Salman Khan’s movie that is to be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. Moreover, she has committed for David Dhawan`s ‘Rascal’, Pritish Nandy`s film ‘Actor’ with Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Bullet Train’ by Priyadarshan, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘No Problem’ and ‘Knockout’.”
Well, looks like Kangna has left aside a lucrative film by a talented director.
