Karan and Tarun reconcile to bring ‘Dostana 2’ on track
Mumbai: Reconciliation seems to be the newest flavour of the season. Karan Johar and filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani, who had creative differences between them over the filming of a sequel to ‘Dostana’ have now made amends. The film starring Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham is all set to go on floors this year end.
While talking to a tabloid, a source revealed, “The film had run into a bit of trouble, owing to the creative differences between the producer Karan Johar and director Tarun Mansukhani. But now, Karan and Tarun are on the same page.”
Reportedly, KJo and Tarun had a spat with his director over the second part of the film. “While Karan has now approved of the first part, Tarun is almost done with the second part and Karan is very happy with the way it is going. Shooting starts by November or December this year,” added the source.
‘Dostana 2’ will be co-produced by Karan Johar and UTV and will have two new gay characters. Buzz has it that Abhay Deol, Dino Morea and Ritesh Deshmuk are being considered to play the two new characters. Katrina Kaif will be replacing Priyanka Chopra in the ‘Dostana’ franchise.
Discussing the new star cast in the film, the source said, “Let`s see what happens. The final selection has boiled down to Abhay, Dino and Ritesh.”
