Khan brothers leave ‘Dabangg’ team out of sequel

Zeenews Bureau

Mumbai: Khan brothers are rehauling the entire ‘Dabangg’ team. The film which was produced by Arbaaz Khan and had Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead, broke all records last year at the Box Office.

Going by the success of the film, the Khans decided to make a sequel of the film. But after the initial fall out with director Abhinav Kashyap, technicians who worked in the first film have also been asked to leave.

Apparently the Khans have decided to have an entirely new team for the sequel of the hit film which goes on floors in March 2012.

Speaking to a newspaper, a source revealed, "The earlier plan was to retain the entire cast and crew barring of course Abhinav Kashyap who had already opted out of the sequel. Dileep Shukla was roped in to write Dabangg 2. As the script developed, Arbaaz Khan realised that he`ll have to work within a new setup and with an entirely new set of man-power for the film."

Interestingly, most of the technicians who have been ousted from the film have decided to work with Abhinav on his next film, a Shah Rukh Khan starrer set in Australia.

Producer Arbaaz Khan admitted that there has been a total makeover in the sequel as far as the technicians are concerned. "Why are people presuming that I`d have to depend on creative resources from the first ‘Dabangg’ to make ‘Dabangg 2’? I`ve been born into a film family. I grew up hearing scripts and people talking cinema. I know enough about cinema to turn director confidently. It`s true we don`t have the original crew on board. We`ve hired a first-rate group of fresh technicians for ‘Dabangg 2’," said Arbaaz.

The actor added, "We know what we`re doing. It`s Dileep Shukla who has written the sequel. But it is my vision and ideas that have been put into the screenplay. I know exactly how I want to shoot the film. The novelty of seeing Salman playing Chulbul Pandey with a moustache has worn off. We`ll be going beyond.”

But will it be a wise decision to replace a winning team with a brand new team? Only time will tell.
