Mumbai: In the recent times, Hindi cinema has seen a number of films raking in the moolah. The Box Office witnessed handsome business that grossed over Rs 100 crore per film, thereby doubling expectations of producers and filmmakers.
Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Son of Sardaar’ made a business of over Rs 100 crore each. The two films in question were released on Diwali and hence such a turnover. Nonetheless, films these days are expected to garner well the Box Office if they have industry heavy-weights on board.
But Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khiladi 786’ has not succeeded in creating ripples at the BO.
Talking to TOI, a source said, “‘Khiladi’ got a thumbs down; and whatever it collected is only on account of Akshay . But even he couldn`t stretch his star power beyond a limit.”
Reports suggest that Akki's film has so far been able to mint only Rs 59.25 cr .
