Mumbai: Marathi film `Mee Sindhutai Sakpal` and a Hindi film `Hunterwali` will be showcased at the upcoming Ladakh International Film Festival (LIFF).
The second edition of Ladakh International Film Festival, to be held at Leh, will exhibit both the films as part of its focus on `Women in Cinema`.
"`Hunterwali` was a pioneering piece of work. The movie conceived in 1935, with a female lead, is a testament to the contribution of women in Hindi cinema. Similarly the Marathi movie, `Mee Sindhutai Sakpal` is brilliant," Melwyn Williams Chirayath, Founder LIFF said.
In addition to this, there will be a panel discussion by eminent women film personalities on the theme `Role of Women in Cinema - On & Off, Road Ahead`.
Some of the participants for the panel discussion will include director-writer Teri McLuhan, Aparna Sen, Meghna Gulzar, Rekha Bharadwaj, Deepti Naval and others.
The festival will be held from September 12-15.
