Mumbai: After ‘Udaan’, Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Lootera’ starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha looks promising and more rightly so, for it comes from a director who impressed critics with his debut film. Not just that, ‘Udaan’ went onto win 7 Filmfare awards and was also selected to compete in the `Un Certain Regard’ category at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
Lead actors Ranveer and Sonakshi, who have been romantically paired for the first time, look elegant together. Ranveer Singh as Varun looks charming while Sonakshi as Pakhi looks graceful as a Bengali girl.
Set in the backdrop of Bengal of the 1950s, ‘Lootera’ is a love story that sails on the turbulent sea of tragedies.
Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl, ‘Lootera’ is slated to release on 5 July. The first trailer of the film that was launched Friday looks intriguing and it will be interesting to see what the film has in store for us.
