Madhuri replaces Aishwarya in ‘Satte Pe Satta’ remake
Mumbai: It’s good news for all the diehard fans of Madhuri Dixit. The dancing diva, who is celebrating her birthday today, is all set to scorch the silver screen once again.
Madhuri has replaced Aishwarya Rai in ‘Satte Pe Satta’ remake which stars Sanjay Dutt. Co-produced by Dutt and Ashtavinayak, the 1982 Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer remake will see Mads and Sanju Baba romance on screen almost over a decade and a half later.
Talking to a daily, Soham Shah, director of the flick, expressed his ecstasy for having Madhuri Dixit on board. He said, "I was always keen on Madhuri playing Hema Malini`s role in my remake. However, I was hesitant to put the proposal forward wondering if she would accept it. Looks like someone up there was listening because Dhillin Mehta and Baba (Sanjay) who are co-producers sent Madhuri a message. I sent her the script and I was ecstatic when she agreed."
Madhuri and Sanjay were once allegedly in a relationship and the duo had set the screen on fire with their sizzling on screen chemistry in blockbusters like ‘Saajan’ and ‘Khalnayak’. The flick will go on floors in mid June next year and will be completed on a go in a single schedule spread over 45 days.
"After this, we will have two songs remaining to be picturised which we will do when Madhuri returns," Soham added.
Producer Dhillin Mehta is gung ho about the Mads-Sanju pair. He said, "Honestly, the Sanjay-Madhuri pair has its own charm. We are delighted that we were able to get her to say yes to us. Sometimes things work out for the best. We are happy to announce this film on her birthday today."
