Mumbai: Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone had a horrendous experience when they were made to shoot with rotten fishes on the sets of ‘Lafangey Parindey’.
Director Pradeep Sarkar got a large quantity of rotten fish that emanated putrid smell, which almost choked the cast and crew of the film.
However, notwithstanding the difficulty of the scene, a gritty Neil and Deepika went ahead with the shoot schedule.
Talking to a news daily, a source said, “The scene would get great reactions from the cast and it was completely important for the film. It was difficult to even stand on the sets with the rotten fish smell and the crew was searching for cloth to cover their mouth and nose. Some were even giving ideas of having room fresheners which of course wouldn’t have worked.”
“But nothing was working. It was like we were standing inside a gas chamber. However, never did we ever think of cancelling the shoot or to postpone it. Neil, Deepika, Pradeep and everyone were totally dedicated to go ahead.”
“But before we started shooting, Pradeep took the actors to the rotten fish and was explaining to them how to go about shooting. The look on the faces of Neil and Deepika was to die for,” added the source.
