No Haj film with Shah Rukh, says Karan Johar
Mumbai: Bewildered at reports in news about a film on Haj starring Shah Rukh Khan, ace director Karan Johar denied anything of sort that his banner Dharma Production is up to.
Only yesterday, it was revealed that Karan has bought the rights of a National Award winning Malayalam film ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’. And buzz had it that Karan will direct the film with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and the film will be shot in Haj. Apparently, it now appears that the news was incorrect.
Flatly denying the reports, Karan who is in London with his mother said, “I am not planning the remake of the acclaimed Malayalam film."
As a matter of fact, Karan further revealed, "I am in London to acquire the rights of a superb French film. If all goes well the French film will translate beautifully into an Indian love story. I can`t wait to get it going."
Meanwhile, KJo readies to announce his next ‘Agneepath’ starring Hrithik Roshan at the IIFA, it’s also been learnt that the master helmer would gear up to get behind the camera again after two years for a Gen-X flick ‘Student of the Year’!
