New Delhi: Cinema makers are besotted with the city of dreams and are taking long strides in the direction of realising their Bombay fantasies with movies as the medium. Take Anurag Kashyap for instance. The ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ hit maker, is directing one of the four stories in the May release ‘Bombay Talkies’, and the buzzword is that, Kashyap will be making another Bombay saga - ‘Bombay Velvet’ - starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. Although the news was broken by the filmmaker on Twitter, the official announcement is still awaited. So with the fresh pairing of a versatile Ranbir and a spontaneous Anushka, we can expect to see lots of never-seen-before sparks on-screen. For now, Anurag is enjoying the phase he is going through where he is getting to do good work and receiving adulation from the critics as well as the masses. Expressing inner joy over the platinum jubilee Hindi cinema is celebrating, he tweeted thus: “For me 100 years of cinema is a time to party because Indian cinema has survived for so long and grown from strength to strength.”
