Mumbai: Stunned by the poor show of ‘Kites’ at the Box Office, Rakesh Roshan is looking forward to direct the ‘Krrish’ sequel, in order to get Hrithik’s career back on track. Buzz has it that Hrithik Roshan will once again be seen as a superhero in ‘Krrish 2’.
Talking to a news daily, a source said, "The meetings for the sequel have already started. The Roshans have not taken the failure of Kites lightly and are making sure that the hit combination continues. Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan have done only three films together in ten years, which include Hrithik`s debut film ‘Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai’, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ and ‘Krrish’. After that Rakesh wanted to take a break and produce films. In midst of all this, Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra was to direct the sequel of ‘Krrish’ and many meetings were organised for that but it all fizzled out."
News has it that post the failure of ‘Kites’, Rakesh Roshan does not want to risk his son’s career any further and has decided to take matters in his own hand. Rakesh is meeting regularly with Robin Bhatt and both are working on the screenplay of the film.
It is believed that Rakesh had dropped the idea of making ‘Krrish 2’ after the release of ‘Avatar’ – a highly sophisticated film with advanced special effects. Now, with ‘Avatar’ being the thing of the past, Rakesh Roshan is all set to make ‘Krrish’ sequel with son Hrithik in lead.
