New Delhi: It seems that Ranbir Kapoor`s fans will have to wait a little longer for the actor`s upcoming period drama `Bombey Velvet`. The film which was earlier slated to release on November 28 will now hit the silver screen only in May, 2015.
The film won`t be ready by November 28 as a lot of VFX work is still pending. The makers did not anticipate that it would take so much time to complete the VFX, reports suggest . Director Anurag Kashyap, who is recreating a bygone era for the film has reportedly confirmed that the post production work will go on till January next year and hence the postponement.
`Bombey Velvet`, set in the Mumbai of 1960s is based on historian Gyan Prakash`s book `Mumbai Fables`. Besides Ranbir Kapoor, the movie also stars Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Kay Kay Menon and Raveena Tandon in prominent roles.
Interestingly, with the postponement of its release, `Bombey Velvet` will now be released sometime close to Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap`s another project `Jagga Jasoos`, which is slated to hit the theatres on May 29.
