New Delhi: Rani Mukerji has every reason to bask in the accolades she has been receiving for `Mardaani`. The praises are pouring in from all quarters. But despite garnering adulation for her bold avatar in the movie, `Mardaani` has failed to weave its magic on the Box-Office.
The movie has reportedly made a very slow start in the opening weekend. `Mardaani` managed to rake in only Rs 3 crore on Friday while Saturday saw the movie collect Rs.4.75 crore, bringing the two-day total up to Rs.8.50 crore (approx), reports a leading daily.
That's really not much as compared to other league of movies which are smash-hits at the Box-Office, and some even making it to the 100-crore-mark.
The Rani-starrer movie has even received good words from the political fraternity, including MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan who has announced to give `Mardaani` a tax-free status in the state.
Well, despite so much praise and critical appraisal, one can only wonder about the fate of the Yash Raj banner in coming days.
Will the movie manage to rake in the moolah, or will it fail to make any impression? That, only time will tell.
But irrespective of whether this Pradeep Sarkar-directed film picks up at the BO, or not, Rani certainly deserves all the attention.
More power to you, lady!
