Review: Special effects and Darsheel makes ‘Zokkomon’ enjoyable

Bollywood lacks good children’s film and ‘Zokkomon’ comes as a breath of fresh air. A story of orphan Kunal (played by Darsheel Safary), who fights all odds and evils to protect his family’s fortune and a village which is seeped in superstition is like any other kiddie flick but made with lot of conviction and is extremely enjoyable.

The traditional story of good over evil juxtaposed with a superhero and some kiddie fun makes the film visually fantastic. Kunal`s transformation into the hooded, heavy-voiced, fire-eyed flying vigilante is funky and attention-grabbing for the young imagination.

The film primarily scores because of its special effects which leave the children in awe. The special affects, the drama add enough punch to Darsheel’s superhero avatar.

The cast is well chosen. Darsheel proves yet again that he is a good actor and can do any role with ease. As Kunal, he comes across as vulnerable, charming and even spontaneous in almost all the scenes. Veteran actor Anupam Kher plays the baddie and supports Darsheel’s performance throughout the film. Manjari Phadnis as Darsheel friend Kittu Didi adds freshness to the entire plot.

The film is a must watch for kids and those who are young at heart. Watch this one; you will have fun.

Ratings: Three cheers for this one!
