Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan is much too pleased by Ajay Devgn for had it not been for him, ‘Chote Nawab’ would have been still vying for an opportunity to work with Prakash Jha. Buzz has it that after Ajay Devgn refused to be a part of Jha’s next big venture ‘Aarakshan’, Saif Ali Khan stepped in to play the lead role.

As per reports, even though Ajay Devgn and Prakash Jha go way back, the actor refused to be a part of his next flick. And sources state that it was Devgn’s apprehensions about the script that forced him to say no to Jha.

Looking for Ajay’s replacement at the last moment, Jha approached Saif, who has been vying to team up with the director for quite a while now. Confirming the news a source said, “Ajay Devgn and Jha have worked together in three films back to back. However, this film won’t have Ajay. After Ajay walked out of the project, Jha was in a fix, as he had to sign a replacement soon for the film’s shooting schedule was supposed to start in February, next year. Thankfully, Saif, whose film Two States did not work out, had bulk dates to spare. So he was roped in”.

The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpai and Deepika Padukone.
