Mumbai: If Box Office collections of Salman Khan’s last three Eid releases are anything to go by, it wouldn’t be wrong to state that the star has found a magical formula of doing remakes of South Indian hits, the upshot of which has elevated Salman’s status to that of a demigod amongst his fans.
With South remakes really working wonders for the actor, Salman Khan once again plans to work on a remake of a southern hit. Industry insiders reveal that the star intends to buy the remake rights of Telugu hit ‘Kanchana’.
Interestingly, Salman Khan will be seen in the role of a transvestite in the remake of the film!
Apparently this would be a first for Salman essaying the role of a cross dresser.
However, Bollywood sources revealed that the director of the original ‘Kanchana’ is insisting on at least Rs 4 crore to sell the remake rights. And though Salman is eager to remake the film in Hindi, insiders say that his brother Sohail is against paying such a huge sum to the makers of the film.
