Salman Khan’s starry fits leave Manjrekar disappointed
Mumbai: Salman Khan is one elusive actor, who despite being on the wish list of every filmmaker, is known for giving a tough time to his directors. And Mahesh Manjrekar is the latest filmmaker to face the actor’s starry fits.
Buzz has it that even though Salman has agreed to star in Manjrekar’s Marathi film Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho’s Hindi remake, he refuses to watch the original film and has constantly stood up the filmmaker. Despite Mahesh arranging for a special screening for the actor, Sallu is in no mood to oblige the director.
According to sources, when Salman heard about the Marathi film, which has been quite a hit as it takes pot-shots at the current education system, he jumped at the offer to star in its Hindi version. The actor revealed his wish to Manjrekar, who was much too pleased to make a film with the superstar.
Soon, Manjrekar suggested that Salman watch the original film. However, even though the director tried for months, Salman was unable to take time out from his busy schedule.
Unwilling to give up, Manjrekar thought it was better to wait for Salman to see the film in Mumbai. The director even arranged for a special screening in the city after taking time from Salman. But, on the day of the screening, Salman sent a word through his staff that he won’t be able to attend the show as he was unwell.
When asked about Salman’s pricey act, Manjrekar didn’t deny the incident but said, “It’s all been sorted out. Salman has promised to watch the film this week on a DVD.”
