Salman makes way for Ranbir and Imran at the Box Office

Mumbai: Bollywood has seen industry heavyweights clashing at the Box Office time and again. Aamir Khan-Sunny Deol and Ajay Devgn-Akshay Kumar have had their blockbusters released on the same day several times. And now it’s the turn of the Tinsel Town kiddies.

Imran Khan’s ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Rockstar’ is slated to release on 9th September. The Kapoor kid’s film was earlier planned for an Eid release along with Salman Khan’s ‘Bodyguard’. But considering Sallu’s previous Eid releases, ‘Wanted’ and ‘Dabangg’, producers of ‘Rockstar’ decided to push back its release.

Talking to a daily, a source close to the Ranbir starrer film said, “Imtiaz Ali who is working with AR Rahman on the music of ‘Rockstar’ had to push his release date back from July. The producers apparently, decided they would either come with Salman Khan`s ‘Bodyguard’ on Eid (August-end) or a fortnight after that. The trade advised them not to clash with ‘Bodyguard’ because Salman`s last two Eid releases ‘Wanted’ and ‘Dabangg’ have proved that he is invincible at that point.”

However, Yash Raj scion Aditya Chopra had decided much earlier on the date of release of his film ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’.

Interestingly, ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ has Ranbir’s ex-ladylove Katrina Kaif romancing his foe-turned friend and competitor Imran, while ‘Rockstar’ will see RK romancing Nargis Fakhri.

Who will shine brighter at the Box-Office? Ranbir or Imran?

Only time will tell!
