Shah Rukh and Ajay Devgn to unite for a film
Mumbai: In a first of sorts, the king of romance Shah Rukh Khan will share screen space with action king Ajay Devgn for a film to be helmed by Rohit Shetty. The two stars haven’t had a chance to work together in their career so far, but SRK has worked with Ajay’s wife Kajol in several films which have created history at the Box Office.
It has always been a known fact that Ajay and SRK are not too fond of each other but Karan Johar took the responsibility to cast these two totally different, but immensely talented actors in his next production.
"If the project happens, it will mark the biggest patch-up in Bollywood in recent times," an industry insider said.
"SRK and Ajay Devgn have maintained distance over all these years, so it will be exciting to see what happens when they come together," the source added.
While it has been confirmed that Karan will produce the film, Ajay`s close friend and hit filmmaker, Rohit Shetty would be directing the yet-untitled project.
"The script is an out-and-out masala entertainer loaded with action and comedy, and Rohit is known for his grip on such subjects. He would be a natural choice to direct the film," a source said about Rohit, who has proved his mettle as a commercial filmmaker with hits such as the ‘Golmaal’ flicks, ‘All The Best’ and ‘Singham’.
The new film that will feature both the actors is expected to take off in the second half of 2013, as Rohit is busy wrapping up ‘Bol Bachchan’ staring Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgn.
