Shahid Kapoor says ‘no’ to go full monty in ‘Hostel’
Mumbai: When well known writer-director Manish Gupta approached Bollywood eye candy Shahid Kapoor for his next, he was disappointed as the actor rebuffed his proposal.
Buzz has it that the writer of ‘Sarkar’ is ready with a new script called ‘Hostel’, which requires the lead do a full monty. No sooner did Shahid Kapoor hear the script, he refused to even read it or move ahead with narration.
As a matter of fact, Manish had to go hunting all over the town in search of the protagonist for his new film ‘Hostel’. Spurned by Shahid, Manish then turned to Kunal Khemu, but even Khemu immediately said ‘no’ to the role.
Next to be approached was Shreyas Talpade, who politely declined to play a guy who is stripped naked, beaten and humiliated throughout the film.
Luckily, Manish Gupta finally zeroed in on Vatsal Sheth, who not only heard the script, but also accepted the offer. The director, however, assured Vatsal that he would shoot scenes in such a way that the dignity of the actor is never compromised.
