Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor might be busy with his home project ‘Mausam’, directed by his father Pankaj Kapoor, but the actor is still craving for more work. As per reports, Shahid, who had initially decided not to consider any film till his father’s directorial debut is complete, has now signed Sajid Nadiadwala’s next film, tentatively titled ‘Heer Ranjha’.
To be directed by Sabir Khan, ‘Heer Ranjha’ is the only film Shahid has agreed to work on after he finishes the shoot of ‘Mausam’.
Confirming the news, a source said, “The actor is extremely passionate about his father’s film ‘Mausam’. While working on the film, he did not sign another. He was rejecting every offer that came his way. Initially he didn’t want any distraction. Later, he signed Sabir Khan’s next.”
Sources state that despite the earlier blunder by Sabir Khan, who directed ‘Kambakht Ishq’, Shahid signed on the film since he really liked the script. “The leading lady of the film is yet to be finalised. The film will go on floors in February next year. Shahid will be working with Sajid for the first time,” adds the source.
Apart from working with Shahid, Sajid has films lined up with many top notch B-towners. As of now, he has ‘Kick’ with Salman Khan, Imtiaz Ali’s next with Hrithik Roshan, ‘Housefull’ sequel with Akshay Kumar, Siddarth Anand’s next with Saif Ali Khan and ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, which is ready for release.
