Shahid’s starry nakhras gets him booted from Mira Nair film
Mumbai: After months of dillydallying with Mira Nair over her film adaptation of Pakistani author Mohsin Hadmi’s ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, Shahid Kapoor has been finally kicked out of the project.
Apparently, sick and tired of Shahid’s waiting game, Nair could not take his starry ways anymore. Buzz has it that without informing Shahid, Nair has already started auditioning fresh faces for the film, which include Ali Zafar, Pratik Babbar and Rehan Khan.
Talking to a daily, a source said, “Shahid is currently shooting for ‘Mausam’ and wasn’t giving dates to Mira Nair for her film. He has a particular look for ‘Mausam’ and would not shoot any other film. Mira’s film revolves around a Pakistani man and she needed Shahid to have a bearded look for the character. He kept dillydallying and did not revert with the dates.”
“Mira wants to go on floors early next year with her film, and she saw no sign of Shahid of doing the film. Thus her team started auditioning for relatively fresh faces, which will suit the role for a Pakistani guy,” added the source.
When enquired, Shahid Kapoor’s spokesperson said, “We would not want to comment on this.”
