New Delhi: Bollywood debutant Riya Vij along with the entire star cast of the movie `Gippi` was spotted promoting the film in NCR on Wednesday.
The story of the film revolves around the physical, emotional and social changes that a growing teenage girl faces in her daily life.
Vij seemed quite confident about her first film.
Meanwhile, Divya Dutta , who is playing the role of Gippi`s mother- Pappi- in the film, said that for the first time she is playing a role of a mother and she finds her role different from the stereo-typed Bollywood mother.
"One best thing Sonam has done in this film is showing a very different type of a mother-daughter relationship on-screen, which so far no one has shown. We always show a very stereotypical mother in films," she said,
"But in this film, mother is a friend. Either they both are dancing on Shammi Kapoor`s songs or they are engaged in pillow fights. But whenever we need each other, we both are there," Dutta said.
The actress also asserted that there are many soft tender moments in the film.
"There are many soft tender moments in the film. And, after watching this film, the kids who are a bit away from their mothers, will definitely say let`s go for a dinner or let`s chat and have fun," Dutta added.
Sonam Nair, the director of the movie, is the first lady director to make a film under Dharma Productions.
The film, which is produced by Karan Johar, is set to hit the theatres on 10th May, 2013.
